TRUMP FLIRTS WITH PARDON FOR DIDDY: “I’d Look at the Facts”
Trump hints at possible pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs amid explosive federal sex trafficking trial—says he'd consider it if there's “mistreatment,” despite no formal request.
President Donald Trump has indicated that he is open to considering a pardon for Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently on trial in New York on federal charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. When asked about the possibility during a White House press briefing on May 30, 2025, Trump stated, "Nobody's asked. But I know people are thinking about it," adding, "I would certainly look at the facts" .
Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The trial has featured testimony from multiple witnesses, including a former assistant testifying under the pseudonym "Mia," who alleges that Combs sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions and subjected her to emotional abuse . If convicted, Combs faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison .
Trump emphasized that any decision regarding a pardon would be based on the facts of the case, stating, "If I think someone was mistreated, whether they like me or don't like me, it wouldn't have any impact" . As of now, no formal request for a pardon has been made.
The trial is ongoing, with further testimony expected in the coming weeks. The possibility of a presidential pardon adds a new dimension to the proceedings, highlighting the intersection of politics, celebrity, and the justice system.
