Trump Melts Down Over Rand Paul’s Fiscal Rebellion
Rand Paul opposes Trump’s $5 trillion debt bill—and Trump loses it online
Donald Trump is fuming. And when Trump fumes, he posts.
At 9:23 AM this morning, Trump took to Truth Social to launch a personal attack on Senator Rand Paul for opposing his “One Big Beautiful Bill,” a sweeping tax-and-spending package that includes a historic $5 trillion debt ceiling hike.
“Rand votes NO on everything... His ideas are actually crazy (losers!),” Trump ranted. “The people of Kentucky can’t stand him.”
Translation: Rand Paul won’t rubber-stamp Trump’s reckless debt bomb—and Trump is throwing a tantrum.
Paul, one of the last Republicans still pretending to care about fiscal responsibility, has been publicly warning that the bill’s debt ceiling hike would explode the deficit. He’s pushing for the tax cuts to be debated separately from the borrowing spree.
“There’s nothing fiscally conservative about expanding the debt ceiling more than we’ve ever done it before,” Paul said this week. “It’s a deal-breaker.”
Trump’s post doesn’t address the $2.2 trillion deficit forecast for this year under the bill. It doesn’t address the long-term consequences of handing the government a blank check. Instead, it leans on playground insults and political gaslighting.
This is what happens when the GOP runs on vibes instead of math.
Rand Paul may not be popular in MAGA world—but in this case, he’s the only Republican asking the right question: Who’s going to pay for this?
