The Republicans want us to believe this is a culture war with Democrats, but nothing could be further from the truth. This is a full-up class war that has been on a slow burn since the early 80s and is now exploding. As Mary Trump's book title says, for the morbidly rich , it is Too Much and Never Enough. The morbidly rich believe, and I will paraphrase Steve Jobs, creating jobs for people is all the give-back to society that is required, REALLY. You could say the same for indentured servitude or the company towns of two centuries ago. Capitalism is failing us, but democracy will die if we try to save it.
