Rome and the US are the same. Corruption and incompetence are the same.

The US has more than 800 known military bases scattered throughout the world. Many others are kept secret for national security reasons. Unlike Rome the US is substantially more imperialistic.

I've been saying this for years. The US is such an overachiever - it only took us 249 years to get where Rome got in 2000. Smh

Paraphrasing a bit of Jeff Daniels from "The Office" tv series.

The US leads the world in only 3 categories. Number of incarcerated citizen per capita. Number of adults who believe angels are real. (7 in 10)* And defense spending where we spend more than the next 13* countries combined. Ten* of which are our allies. * - most recent info

Maybe, that’s not true. In history, we see the pattern of the rise and fall of empires. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes it goes faster.
